Maine Horses Making an Impact Outside of Maine

Racehorses with Maine connections are making an impact on the racing community outside of Maine. Here are just a few of the success stories.

LIKEABATOUTAHELL, owned by Michael Andrew, set a new all-age trotting track record of 1:52.0f at Harrah's Chester in Pennslyvania. The mile was done last Friday, June 18 with Yannick Gingras driving in the $32,000 open trot.

BAD BOY BILLY, a MSBS Champion at 2 and 3, bred by Michael Andrew, trotted to a new lifetime mark of 1:56.1h at Yonkers Raceway on May 28. He is currently the national season leader for 4 year old trotters on a half mile track. He currently has $206,791 in career earnings.

PANESTHETIC captured the fastest division of The Pennsylvania Stallion Series in 1:51.2f at The Meadows. He followed that up by touring the Meadowlands in 1:49.4m. The three year old gelding is owned by Alice Bonenfant and Arlene & Dick Shaw and trained by Scott Blackler.

SEASIDE, owned by Thomas Dillon, set a new lifetime mark of 1:53.2M on May 14 at the Meadowlands, and became the national season leader for four year old trotting mares on a mile track. Last year's winner of the Kentucky Futurity currently has $560,165 in career earnings

PEMBROKE PRAYER is slaying the upper trotting divisions in New York. In June alone, the six year old gelding has won two races at Saratoga in the Open division, and a Preferred division at Yonkers. A career earner of $396,384, he is co-owned by Mark Ford and Bill Varney.

TOO GOOD TO PASS, a three year old filly trotter, set a new lifetime mark of 1:56.2f in a division of the Dream of Glory Series at Scioto Downs on Friday, June 18. She is owned in part by Yvette Prudenzano and Basil Kellis.

TUFF ENUFF HANOVER was second in The Pennsylvania Stallion Series at The Meadows, pacing his mile in 1:51.1f. He then was third at Pocono Downs last Friday, pacing in 1:51.1f. He is owned by Bill and Barbara Ethier of Old Orchard Beach and trained by Scott Blackler.

GO GO SOLANO, bred by the Ram Racing Stable of Falmouth, and once owned by Michael Timmons of Cumberland, currently holds the national season leader's mark of 1:51.3 for four year old geldings on a half mile track, done at Yonkers Raceway on May 1st.
