On Monday, April 27th, the Committee on Veteran and Legal Affairs will be hearing all gaming bills that have been presented to the Maine Legislature starting at 9:00 am in the State House in Augusta in room 437.

One of these bills is for a Southern Maine Casino and to protect the 4% fund that commercial tracks receive and keep in our industry if a commercial track were to cease operation.

The Maine Harness Horsemen’s Association and the Maine Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association is asking all horsemen to attend this meeting in support of the bills that help our industry. There will be no need to speak. The goal is to speak in numbers, lining the hallways and committee hearing room with supporters. Drivers and trainers are asked to wear your colors and others to wear horse or harness racing related items.
