The 2012 Maine Sire Stakes Directory is now available online here.

The 2012 Stallion Directory contains the stallions that have registered with the Commissoin office indicating they will stand in the State of Maine during the 2012 breeding season that started on January 15, 2012.

The number of stallions has decreased this year, however, the quality of stallions continues to improve. The proof of this statement can best be seen with the improved quality of the participants in the Sire Stakes Program. This past year we had a very good crop of two year old trotters and pacers with some performance records being set by the participants.

The Maine Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association Winter Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 18 at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland. The meeting is slated to begin at 3:00 pm with a social hour at 4:30 pm and then dinner and awards at 6:00 pm.

Owners and trainers are also reminded that continuation fees are due on February 15.
