On Sunday, October 30, Scarborough Downs and the Maine Harness Horsemen's Association
are sponsoring "Get To The Track" for a day of giving.
The giving will start on the racetrack with three special races, with the driver's
purse money going to charity. The "Brother's Driving Championship" will be for the
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of York County. A "Amateur
Driving Race" will support The Maine State Society
for the Protection of Animals. The Mildred Williams International Driving Series
for Women Drivers" will also visit the track and benefit
The Maine Cancer Foundation's Tri For A Cure.
There will also be a driver autograph session, where you can meet your favorite drivers.
In the grandstand special event T-shirts will be selling for $10 each with the proceeds going to the charities
and a
50/50 cash raffle. But the big event is the chance to win a 2 night's stay at the
Samoset Resort on the
Ocean in Rockport, Maine! The prize package includes two rounds of golf on their 18 hole
championship golf course, a breakfast buffet and dinner for two at their new
La Bella Vita Ristorante. Chances are just $5 each and 100% of the proceeds go to all three
charities!
Come on out and support a great cause! Scarborough Downs post time
on Sunday October 30 is 12:05 pm.
