Barbra Ann continues to enjoy rock-star status at the raceway this season as the rookie Maine-bred extended
her unbeaten streak at Scarborough Downs on Friday (8/27) with driver Kevin Switzer calling the shots.
Now a perfect 9 for 9, the 2-year-old daughter of Goin to the Beach toyed with the field during the sultry
late summer twilight card, setting torrid fractions while holding enough in reserve to establish a brand
new Scarborough Downs track record for her age and sex, traversing the course timed in 1:58.1.
With just one sakes engagement remaining before the Maine Sire Stakes 2-year-old championships, Barbra Ann
will properly be the one to beat come the big day. Stakes finals are to be carded on Sept. 12 at Scarborough
Downs, post time is 1:30 pm.
Other stakes winners on Friday included Barbra Ann’s stable mate, Maeve (1:58.4), and Kim Ireland’s Ocean
View Janet (2:01).
