Award-winning documentary makers at incredibleMaine, have completed and are set to air a half-hour documentary featuring Scarborough Downs and harness racing in Maine, during a pledge telecast on the Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) on June 12th between 5 pm and 6:30 pm.

The show gives a rare behind-the-scenes look at the industry, from the work of harness racing drivers, trainers, and grooms, as well as highlights the Robertson family of Scarborough, who have horses stabled at The Downs. The filming took place last September.

In its third season, the independently-produced incredibleMAINE, hosted by LC Van Savage, produced by Marilyn Taylor and Dave Wilkinson, has also garnered several Telly awards. Taylor created the show in 2006 as a cable access program shown on 65 cable systems in Maine and elsewhere. MPBN started airing the show in 2007. The group just received its second Emmy nomination for “Farm Camp,” a documentary about sustainable living in the next generation in Maine.

Scarborough Downs is celebrating its 60th season in 2010 and showcases live harness racing action every Thursday – Saturday at 4 pm; Sunday at 1:30 pm.
