Charlize returned to Scarborough Downs on Friday (4/30), the site of some of her biggest triumphs, proving once again that the “Horses for Courses” theory remains one of the handicappers’ best friends.

A regular along the State-of-Maine northern circuit, Charlize seems to save her best for the big time stage, trotting most successfully whenever the five-year-old daughter of Defies Logic visits Scarborough Downs. In limited local action, Charlize can now boast four winner’s circle sessions; included amongst those, her lifetime best recorded last year at the Downs in 2:00.1.

Owned and trained by Deborah Freeman of East Orland, ME, Charlize was teamed to her ninth career victory today by driver Rusty Lanpher III.

Scarborough Downs features a special live harness racing post time of 2 pm on Saturday, May 1st, for Kentucky Derby day; Doors open at 10 am.
