The mix and match six-pack of wins included two from Switzer’s own stable and four catch drives as the man in the blue and black colors made all the right decision at all the right times on the raceway.

The first of his half-dozen trips down victory lane came behind Come Holme With Me (2:02) who shared the Scarborough winner’s circle with Thisonesformouse (Shawn Gray) after the tandem dead-heated at the wire following a spirited stretch duel.

The real driving clinic began in race six though as Switzer embarked on a sizzling streak of four consecutive wins commencing with Fortunate Life (2:00.4), who overcame the dreaded eight-hole to score his first win of the season; Roman Conqueror N (1:58.4), the first of two stable wins for Switzer; LLYR (1:58.3), who scored his first win since November of 2008; and Passthegreypoupan (1:58.2) who escaped from behind faltering speed in a well-timed pounce from the pylon-path.

Switzer closed out the most successful day of his career (in terms of wins) by teaming the veteran pacer Greenmeansgo (2:01.2) to his 50th career victory for trainer Gordon Dubois.

“I may sit a little old in the sulky and I may have put on a few pounds” Switzer mused following his prolific performance “But like David Ortiz of the Red Sox I’m still capable of hitting them out of the park every once in a while.”

The Scarborough and Fenway faithful both fully concur and hope for more of the same from both Big Papi and the Mighty Switz as summer in New England commences.

Scarborough Downs proudly features live harness excitement every Friday and Saturday at 4:00 PM (EDT) with the Sunday matinee getting underway at 1:30 PM. A special live harness card has been planned for Kentucky Derby Day (May 1st) with a 2:00 PM post time.
