9th, Board Meeting synopsis
The Monthly Board meeting was held at the Augusta office on October 9th at 5:00. All Directors of the Board were present, as was Rhonda Miller, the Administrative Assistant to the MHHA.
The Officers reports were read and accepted. Discussions were lively concerning the Calendar fundraiser for the month of November, the budget, and the Sire Stakes Super Weekend. The Joint Committee has established a timeline regarding the application, screening and interview process for the hiring of a new Executive Secretary. It is planned that all of that should be done by late November in order to have the new person in place the first of the year.
Old Business concerned the debt to HHI and the timeline for paying that off, as an agreement has been reached as to the amount of debt. Other old business discussed was the proposed race dates for 2009 and the 5% program for driver/trainer.
In New Business, a new membership application for 2009 was reviewed and accepted, and discussion on accepting credit cards/debit cards continued. That is a very real possibility for the near future! Survey results are pouring in and a final tabulation will be done for the next meeting on November 10th. If you have not returned your survey, do so soon!!
